Essential Fatty Acids (EFA) Protect your Skin with the Essentials.

Did you know that your skin is your Largest Organ? And so, it must always be nurtured and nourished.

Skincare is imperative for skin health, and more than engaging in skin treatments to exercise the skin is required. Good Skincare isn’t Good enough.

Replenishing your Skin Cells of what they lack, such as Essential Fatty Acids, also known as EFA, is an absolute must in anyone’s Skincare routine; why?

Simply put, the skin must be fed to ensure a nourished, hydrated, plump Skin. As the winter months approach us, feeding your Skin with EFAs will provide you with many benefits, so it is essential for us to understand their role in the skin’s composition.

Linoleic acid Omega-6 is the most abundant polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) found in the skin. It is required to synthesise ceramides that comprise 40-50% of the lipids in the stratum corneum and support a strong Skin barrier.

When the skin is low in Omega-6 Fatty Acids, it can lead to poor barrier function. Additionally, sebum becomes thicker in consistency, leading to skin congestion, and the skin becomes visibly inflamed and reactive.

Consumption of EFAs is not enough; including these actives in your Daily Skincare routine. Hence, will dramatically improve Skin Health and overall complexion. The longevity of results obtained by EFA’s is paramount to enjoying an absolute Glow Up.
