Firstly PH is Balanced, and the lotion also hydrates the skin’. A lotion allows your other products to penetrate deeper into the skin. You will find you don’t use as much serum or moisturiser in well-hydrated skin.

What is the difference between lotion and toner?

 Lotion is a lighter liquid which offers hydration and restores PH balance to the skin. Toners can include astringents, which are also water-based, but may consist of alcohol. Alcohol is used to control excess oil and to reduce pores. Direct From The Therapist only stocks Lotions that don’t contain alcohol.  Our Lotions are all sea-based formulas giving proper hydration.  The Seawater used is equivalent to blood Plasma, which allows hydration to penetrate the skin easily. 

In vitro and in vivo studies have shown that Phaeodactylum tricornotum seaweed extract, called Omegaplancton®. It features the unique ability to protect the skin from latent inflammations by stimulating the formation of ceramides. Hence reduces dehydration.

Omegaplancton® is also a natural marine source of Omega-3 essential fatty acids. Hence, Fatty acids are substances naturally present in our skin and necessary for reducing free radicals in the body. Omegaplancton stimulates the production of collagen and ceramides.
