Seaweeds are nutritionally rich in amino acids, minerals and vitamins that nourish the skin. Seaweeds also show naturally revitalizing and moisturising properties. Scientific reports show that seaweeds contain humectants that help to retain water on the skin surface.  Hydrocolloids present in the seaweed hydrate, giving the skin clarity and add a natural glow to the skin.

Seaweeds are an Effective Antioxidant for Free radicals.  Free radicals can cause severe damage to the skin and make it appear dull and without Clarity. Seaweeds possess radical scavenging abilities so it serves as a great antioxidant.

Some seaweeds contain molecules similar to that of collagen, which makes it a good antiaging ingredient.  Collagen gives skin elasticity, strength, and firmness. Due to its therapeutic properties, seaweeds have become a natural alternative to chemical based cosmetics.

Seaweed contains a compound called phycosaccharide that is proven to show anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory actions.  Phycosaccharide calms irritation and fights ageing by repairing skin damage. It can also reduce sebum or oil production and thus prevent acne. Extracts of brown seaweed are used to eliminates impurities and balances the pH of the skin.  Seaweed, when applied to the skin, draws excess fluid and waste products from the skin. It also acts as a cleanser for dead skin cells.
